We had a wonderful stay here. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the spacious balcony was definitely a highlight. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful view of Kanchenjunga right from our room, which made the stay even more special. 🏔️ The rooftop sitting area is another beautiful touch. It’s such a cosy little space, and the view from there is simply the best! The service was also very good and the staff were helpful. We ordered dinner at the hotel one evening, and the food was really delicious and freshly prepared. Overall, it was a lovely and peaceful experience. I would definitely visit this place again and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with beautiful mountain views. ❤️
Our stay at Ttakshan Residency, Gangtok was a wonderful experience. ❤️ The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the hospitality was really warm. A special thanks to Dalma, Uden and Maina for preparing our room so beautifully and taking such good care of us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again. Thank you, Ttakshan Residency, for making our Gangtok trip even more memorable! 🏔️❤️
I checked into Room No 801 at 10 pm. It was a hectic day with road closures, landslides - making my journey from NJP to Gangtok a 7.5 hour marathon. And after all of this hectic juggernaut, the last thing I expected from a 'Summit Hotels & Resorts' property is that the geyser in my room doesn't function. Upon engaging with the reception staff, I was informed that at this hour there is no housekeeping or maintainance guy available who could have fixed the geyser issue, so the best that they could offer was a bucket of hot water. The additional suggestion from the hotel staff was to take a shower from a neighbouring room and coming back to my own room. I am stunned at this "excellent" service of 'Summit Hotels & Resorts'! So, a tiring first day into Gangtok kicked off with a bang. I hope the management of this chain of hotels takes some accountability and improve their level of service. I booked this room for 5 nights and on day 1 itself this suprise came my way. I even called the property a day prior to my check-in to get an assurance that everything is in place. I am stunned that a basic necessity like a geyser turns faulty right on day 1. The room otherwise is quite spacious, has a thoughtful interior made up, and comes with an excellent view. Even the dinner that was served to us on our arrival turned out pretty tasty. EDIT: I just completed my 6-night stay at the property. The management, especially Ms. Phurmit was instrumental in looking into the problem and got our geyser issue fixed right on the next day. This was, in fact, one of the few rare occasions where the service and response was prompt and appropriate. From the next day onwards, the service was prompt and absolutely wonderful. The warmth of the hotel staff really stood out to me and I would love to come back to this stay over again.
We traveled as two families with four children and booked two family rooms with balcony views for a three-night stay at Summit Ttakshang Residency Hotel & Spa. This was our second stay at a Summit property and the third hotel overall during our Sikkim/Darjeeling trip — and it easily turned out to be the best of the lot. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a great variety of options each morning. The food was consistently delicious, and the staff made our stay even more enjoyable with their warm hospitality and attentive service. The family rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and had a modern, comfortable feel throughout. The views from our hotel room were simply breath-taking and out of the world. Since the evenings can get quite chilly, we especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like room heaters and even electric blankets on the beds — a wonderful surprise that added to the comfort of our stay. The hotel is conveniently located near Gandhi Marg, making it easy to explore nearby cafes and restaurants. I highly recommend trying Taste of Tibet and Baker's Cafe for some absolutely delicious food.
